Help - I don't understand Internal Bidding!! (When one Rinkya bidder bids against another Rinkya bidder)
Here is our biggest point of confusion when using Rinkya.  Do not worry, understanding this part is a bit difficult! Even we get confused!

Example 1

In this example, there are 2 Rinkya users bidding for an item on Yahoo Japan Auctions. There are three bids placed, by user 1, then user 2, then user 1 again as shown in green. What is shown on YJ Auctions and tracked internally by Rinkya is shown on the right column.

Bid# Rinkya User 1 Rinkya User 2 YJ Bidder High Bid (Max Bid)
on YJ Auctions
High Bid (Max Bid)
on Rinkya System
1 Bids 10,000 . . 10,000 10,000
2 . Bids 15,000 . 10,000 (15,000) 10,000 (15,000)
3 Bids 13,000 . . 10,000 (15,000)  13,000 (15,000)
Close . User 2 Wins!
(Max bid on RY)
. 10,000  13,000 (15,000)

The high bid shown on YJ Auctions stays the same because Rinkya is placing the bid for the item in all cases, because they are all Rinkya users. When the bid is increased, the maximum internal bid on YJ Auctions is increased for the "auto-bidding" feature on YJ. However, no change is seen externally.

The Rinkya system tracks the auction internally in the same way, but it is able to distinguish between the 2 Rinkya bidders. When Rinkya User 1 makes the 3rd bid for 13,000 yen, the Rinkya system increases the high bid internally.

You should use the Rinkya Bid History page to see whether you hold the high bid on YJ and Rinkya. YJ Auctions only shows the high bid for all of Rinkya, so you may be misled into thinking you're ahead when you have been outbid by another Rinkya user.

Be sure to use the Bid History page for accuracy. That's why it's there!

Help - Please tell me what I am looking at on the auction I am trying to bid on!
Here is a screenshot explaining what you are looking at on Yahoo Japan.

Help - What does a Buy It Now auction look like?
In the example below, the current bid is at 10,000yen, the Buy it Now price is bold and has a pinkish, yellow highlight for 35,000yen.

Help - Please tell me what I should look for regarding fakes, reproductions, backgrounds, condition, etc.
Here are a few Japanese words you may see on the auction.

Help -  I need more assistance reading item descriptions in Japanese!

There are several online sites with free translation engines. Babelfish from AltaVista also offers free translation of either text or entire pages. WWWJDIC is a free online Japanese/English dictionary interface. It allows lookup of words and short phrases (especially useful if the results from a translation engine don't make sense), and also has a limited text translation feature. Rinkya also has translation services available when you use MyRinkya. Rinkya is not responsible for any mistranslations. Please use at your own risk.

Help -  I have a problem that needs immediate attention! What do I do?
Please read the FAQ carefully.

You may also visit the Rinkya forum and ask other Rinkya users for help, or you may contact us.
