Insurance Claim Instructions
Items with Insurance & Tracking:
- EMS
- Parcel Post Airmail, Sea Mail and/or Surface Mail (SAL)
Items WITHOUT insurance:
There is no insurance or tracking available for small packet Airmail
(2kgs & under). If you request this method, you cannot claim
any broken, lost or stolen items. Do not email us if you have requested
this method of shipping.
Steps for claiming your insurance.
- If your item is broken due to shipping mishandling, please return
to the post office with the item in its original packaging to make
a claim.
- Take digital pictures of your damaged item. Please send Rinkya
these pictures as well as a detailed description of the item & package.
If you do not provide pictures, we will not refund
you within a month and you must wait until the post office refunds you
which can take up to 6 months.
- After making a claim, your post office will contact Japan to start
the claim procedure. This may take up to 2 weeks. As soon as
we receive contact that you have made your claim and you have sent us pictures,
we can start the refund process to you. Refunds can take up to 1
month.
- The post office can take over 6 months to return insurance money.
When and if they do so, this payment must be given to Rinkya as we will
have already sent you this refund within 2-3 weeks of your claim. (see #3)
- If the post office does not return the insurance money, we will review
the incident again and may require the money back based on the investigation.
WE DO NOT HELP YOU MAKE CLAIMS FOR:
- Items that are marked JUNK, AS-IS, or NO CLAIM in your auctions.
- Electronics that do not work for any other reason aside from shipping mishandling.
- Items claimed after 7 days of arrival. You must make your claim immediately, in a timely fashion.
4) Fraudulent claims.
