Collector Commentary
X-PLUS's 1968 King Ghidorah Flying Version represents a pivotal release in high-end Toho kaiju collectibles, capturing the three-headed dragon at its iconic wingspan. X-PLUS's Japan-domestic production runs for vintage film monsters are typically limited and subject to rarity escalation, particularly unopened examples—the flying posture with separate wing components and dual-base engineering demands shelf real estate and increases condition-sensitive value. This 47 cm scale strikes the collector sweet spot between imposing presence and display practicality. Unopened stock commands premiums as collectors increasingly recognize that X-PLUS's early 2000s kaiju output rarely sees reissue, making sealed examples the de facto investment tier.
