Cel Animation from Porco Rosso E-13

Collector Commentary

Original cels from Porco Rosso (1992) remain among the most sought Ghibli production materials, particularly those sourced from the official Animage sale—a documented channel that enhances provenance for serious collectors. Early Studio Ghibli cels command premiums due to limited theatrical runs, deliberate non-reissue policies, and the studio's transition away from traditional cel production by the late 1990s. Condition is critical: tape discoloration and aging acetate are expected on cels of this vintage, but absence of acetic odor indicates the cel stock remains stable. E-13 episode numbering suggests mid-production material, often more characteristic and dynamic than opening/closing sequences.
