Collector Commentary
Sailor Moon production cels remain highly sought after by animation art collectors due to the series' cultural significance and the relatively small surviving inventory from the 1990s TV run. Original cels from the TV series command premium prices, particularly those featuring key characters or visually striking sequences, as they represent both a piece of anime history and genuine animation craftsmanship. The condition and character prominence heavily influence value—this used example with visible wear reflects typical degradation from decades of storage, which is normal for cels from this era. Cels bundled with animation reference sheets (genga) are preferred by serious collectors as they provide production context and verify authenticity.
