A complete first-edition Japanese Berserk run (1–43) is exceptionally difficult to assemble, as early volumes command premiums due to sustained collector demand and limited domestic print runs in the 1990s–2000s. Kentaro Miura's original artwork and serialization history make volumes 1–13 especially sought after; later volumes benefit from improved paper quality and color pages in deluxe editions, but first printings maintain canonical value.
