Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro Cell Art

Collector Commentary

Castle of Cagliostro (1979) remains the most celebrated Lupin III film, and wedding-sequence cells are among the most sought animation cels from the entire franchise due to their narrative prominence and visual impact. This cel shows no warping—a critical preservation factor for acetate of this age—though the mismatched background is a common condition in the secondary market, as original matched pairs rarely stay together. Domestic Japanese sales of animation cels from major theatrical releases carry inherent provenance weight, and Cagliostro material commands consistent collector demand across restoration-focused and purist segments.
