Collector Commentary
The Mega Gengar EX Special Art Rare (SAR) card from the Pokémon Trading Card Game taps into the enduring popularity of the Ghost/Poison-type Pokémon, a fan-favorite since its anime debut in 1997. Released as part of the November 2025 High-Class Pack “Mega Dream EX,” this card stands out for its intricate artwork and limited availability, factors that significantly enhance its collectible appeal. With its pristine condition and the authenticity of a Japanese print, this card is well-positioned within the collector market, reflecting typical demands for early-run Japanese Pokémon cards—especially those featuring iconic characters like Gengar. Current pricing around ¥60,000 aligns with the trend of appreciating value among Special Art Rares, making it a noteworthy piece for serious collectors.
