Collector Commentary
The Mega Rayquaza EX trading card, released as part of the highly sought-after MEGA High Class Pack in November 2025, exemplifies the trend of premium collectible cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, particularly within the context of the Mega Evolution mechanics. With a rarity designation of SAR, this specific card has garnered significant collector interest, reflecting the enduring popularity of Rayquaza as both a powerful character in the franchise and as a fan-favorite Pokémon. Produced with meticulous attention to detail typical of both the Pokémon brand and Japanese card manufacturing, this card’s pristine condition adds to its value, especially in the context of domestic Japanese releases, which are often regarded as superior due to better storage and preservation practices. Given its current bidding price of ¥800,000, this piece underscores the thriving collector market for high-quality, rare cards in Japan, where serious collectors are always on the lookout for pristine examples like this.
