Collector Commentary

Kuniyoshi Kaneko (1936–2015) was a significant postwar Japanese artist who bridged design education and fine art practice, studying under prominent stage designer Motohiro Nagasaka at Nihon University. His silk screen prints from the 1990s represent a smaller output category compared to his earlier work, making numbered editions like this more sought by serious collectors of late-20th-century Japanese printmaking. The 53/75 edition number sits in the middle range, and the hand-signed condition with original framing adds provenance appeal, though collectors should note that silk screen impressions from this period can show subtle fading or foxing over decades—condition inspection is critical for long-term value retention.
