Collector Commentary
Magical Chase is one of the most sought-after PC Engine HuCards, commanding premium prices due to its limited domestic print run and legendary status in shmup collecting circles. Quest's 1991 release was never widely distributed in Japan and saw minimal reprinting, making original copies in excellent condition relatively scarce across the secondary market. The game's tight bullet-hell mechanics and charming magical-girl aesthetics have sustained collector demand for decades, with condition and authenticity being critical value drivers—verified, no-scratch examples consistently outperform worn copies by significant margins.
