Collector Commentary
This bulk lot represents a curated high-value collection focused on modern era pull rates—SAR (Special Art Rare), SR (Secret Rare), UR (Ultra Rare), and AR (Ace Spec Rare) designations emerged primarily in Scarlet/Violet era Japanese sets, commanding consistent secondary market demand. The inclusion of sealed Tohoku Pokémon Center product and McDonald's collaboration packs signals domestic Japanese acquisition, where early regional exclusives and promotional runs typically maintain stronger value trajectories than international stock. The seller's note that ~80% were self-drawn (storage in sleeves) indicates preservation-focused handling; however, the explicitly damaged sample cards visible in photos suggests mixed condition within the lot—a critical factor for modern graded-eligible cards where PSA/BGS 9s command 2-4× raw card prices. Japanese retirement sales of this scale often include hidden gems (misprint variants, early print runs with lower QC, regional pop differentials) that reward in-person inspection but present risk in remote purchase.
