Porco Rosso Cel B26

Collector Commentary

Original Porco Rosso production cels from Studio Ghibli's 1992 Miyazaki film command premium prices in the collector market, particularly early domestic Japanese sales pieces authenticated through period purchase channels like Animage magazine. The absence of vinegar syndrome—a critical degradation marker in cel collections—combined with three decades of minimal environmental stress makes this a stable long-term holding. Ghibli cels have shown consistent appreciation as animation art investment vehicles, with early theatrical run cels significantly outpacing reissue material; provenance from magazine sales adds documentary weight to authenticity claims.
