1 / 1

Description

●Product Description This is a rare historical helmet, known as the Peach-Shaped Kabuto (桃形兜, Momo-nari Kabuto). The helmet bowl is expertly crafted from iron plates that have been joined in the center and at the sides, with sharp shinogi (ridged patterns) at the seams. The front half features a gentle slope while the back half is rounded in a peach shape. The curved, contemporary-style visor is equipped with a robust single horn base (tsuno-moto) for attaching the front crest, although the crest itself is not included. Details are unclear, but it is quite an old piece made with materials from the period. Please check the photos for condition details. Size can be confirmed using the measuring tape shown in the photos. The pedestal used for photography is not included. ●Peach-Shaped Kabuto The Peach-Shaped Kabuto is one of the pioneering forms of variant helmets that emerged during the Warring States period, and it was popular in Western Japan from the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the early Edo period. ●Shipping Nationwide shipping is a flat rate of ¥2,500 (extra charges apply for Hokkaido, Okinawa, and other remote islands).
