[Unassembled] Kaiyodo Yuji Sakai Death Ghidorah Mothra Resin Cast Kit 50cm Size

1 / 1

Description

Product Details This is an unassembled item. The small parts bag is unopened. Other large parts were wrapped in bubble wrap. Although the box indicates a size of 20cm, once assembled, it appears to reach a height of about 40cm, with an overall length of around 50cm including wings and tail. The weight is also considerable. The tips of the wing’s tooth-like parts are in the condition shown in the images; they are not broken but have an inward dent with a glossy cross-section, resembling a manufacturing defect where the resin did not flow properly. Please repair this with putty. Regarding the wings, it’s stated in the instructions that they are made thinner than the prototype stage, so putty filling is necessary. The kit is securely packed in bubble wrap, but due to the many sharp parts, there is a possibility that they could be broken during delivery. This item is approximately 30 years old. The outer box shows some wear, like scratches. Given its large size and weight, along with the presence of sharp and thin parts, the assembly difficulty is considered high. Contents: Resin parts and assembly instructions **Caution** This product is an unpainted, unassembled garage kit. It is not a completed item. Some of the images may show examples of assembly and painting. The actual product consists of unpainted parts. There may be burrs, bubbles, and warping characteristic of resin products.

Collector Commentary

This unassembled resin cast kit of Death Ghidorah, sculpted by renowned artist Yuji Sakai, represents a significant piece within the Godzilla franchise, which has captivated audiences since its debut in the 1950s. Originally released about 30 years ago, these kits are appreciated for their intricate detailing and the challenge they pose to collectors, combining both model building and artistry. The rarity of this vintage kit, along with the necessity of assembly and potential imperfections typical of resin products, drives its appeal among serious hobbyists, particularly as many similar kits have not seen reissues. Given its provenance from Japan, collectors value not only the authenticity but the quality that often exceeds later mass-produced alternatives, making this a noteworthy find for dedicated enthusiasts.
