Collector Commentary
The Super Famicom game *Love Quest* (SHVC-P-ALQJ) holds a unique place in the retro gaming landscape, as it reflects the quirky charm of Japanese RPGs from the early '90s, a period that saw a surge in colorful storytelling and imaginative gameplay. Released in 1991, the game has garnered attention among collectors for its rarity, particularly in well-preserved condition due to its limited production run and the tendency of titles from this era to become lost or significantly worn over time. Collectors are drawn not only to its nostalgic value but also to the authenticity of owning a genuine Japanese version, which signifies an early edition with its original packaging and format. As prices fluctuate, this bid of ¥91,182 is consistent with the growing interest in retro titles from Japan, where collectors prioritize condition and completeness in their acquisitions.
