【Artist Introduction】
Born March 11, 1956, in California, USA. From a young age, he showed remarkable artistic talent, becoming acquainted with painting at the age of four. In 1966, he moved to Maui, Hawaii with his family, captivated by the charm of the ocean. Through various trials and errors, he developed a unique painting style expressing both the universe and seabed, depicting two worlds above and below the surface. He began exhibiting his works in 1976 while also ranking as a professional surfer. In 1983, he created the image art "Sanctuary" for the United Nations' Clean Ocean Campaign. In 1989, he was selected as the official artist for the Honolulu Marathon. In 1990, he founded the environmental conservation organization See Vision Foundation to give back to the ocean. In 1992, "Sanctuary" became a UN commemorative stamp. In 1996, he created the official poster for the movie "Flipper." In 1998, he produced the official poster for the International Year of the Ocean and was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the N.G.O. organization F.U.N. He also released the song "TURN THE TIDE," for which he was the composer and vocalist. He is a leading figure in marine art, enjoying immense popularity in Japan.
