You can find the issue numbers on this page from the Mint Bureau: [https://www.mint.go.jp/media/2025/02/nenmeibetsu_r6.pdf](https://www.mint.go.jp/media/2025/02/nenmeibetsu_r6.pdf) From Heisei late to Reiwa, you can see that there are extremely few issues for 1 yen, 5 yen coins, etc.; it’s commonplace to find catalogue prices at around ¥5,000 for a single coin. The limited circulation of certain 1 yen and 5 yen coins has driven up demand, with some individual proof coins commanding prices significantly higher than their face value, reflecting their scarcity in the market. Such coins often resonate with collectors not only for their historical significance but also for their aesthetic design and the precision of their minting, representing Japan's rich numismatic heritage. The premium pricing on this auction highlights the collector community's recognition of these artifacts as valuable representations of Japan's monetary evolution. ## Images - https://auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/dr000/auc0201/user/6648d8180cd22a537be8cc4ca1086aaee475ef97365de6384d075b96780dd3e4/i-img1200x614-17678623221394puuwbn5871.jpg ## Links - View on Rinkya: https://www.rinkya.com/discover/item/collection-of-modern-circulating-coins-1-yen-5-yen-special-years-small-t1215241509 - Find live items like this: https://www.rinkya.com/discover/live --- Rinkya is a proxy bidding & shopping service for buyers outside Japan.
