This wine is crafted from blends of Grand Cru wines. It was produced in the 1930s but was revived in 1999, a great vintage, with blends from the second picking of Grand Cru grapes. This wine is open-knit and can be enjoyed early, but it expresses Vosne-Romanée's sensual character with the addition of dark fruits and peony aromas, unique to DRC. It may be challenging to obtain, but starting here is the correct way to enjoy DRC. Alternatively, if one experiences DRC wines to a certain extent first, the overall picture of DRC might become clearer. Jacques-Marie Duvault Blochet was the elder who purchased the vineyard of Romanée-Conti in 1869. He passed away in 1874. It was later registered as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti by Jacques Chambon and Marie-Dominique de Villaine in 1912 after passing through family hands. I am a wine collector.
