## Description
This is a rare 1-yen coin from the early Showa period, specifically from 1955 (Showa 30). It features an error known as the 'hegeline', which is a line extending about 1cm from the bottom left side on the reverse side. Additionally, there are two minor burr lines visible on the front side. Please refer to the accompanying images for detailed views of the coin.

## Collector note
This 1955 1-yen coin, featuring a unique hegeline error, is a noteworthy piece for numismatists focused on vintage Japanese currency, particularly from the Showa period. The minor burr lines indicate it has been preserved quite well despite its age, enhancing its appeal to collectors who track condition meticulously. Such errors are rare, making this coin an intriguing find in the collector community, where authentic and lesser-known variants often command higher valuations. Given Japan’s historical context and careful minting practices, items like this coin are sought after for both their aesthetic appeal and significance in Japanese monetary history.
