## Collector note
This limited edition Pokémon Center Game Boy Color was released to celebrate the franchise's 3rd anniversary, a time when Pokémon was solidifying its place in pop culture following the success of the original series and its games. The condition of this unit, featuring a sound issue but full functionality otherwise, will affect its collectability; however, collectors often prioritize the authenticity and rarity of such early-run Japanese releases. Given Nintendo's esteemed reputation in the collectible market and the popularity of Pokémon merchandise, this unit could attract serious interest, particularly among those seeking unique pieces tied to the franchise’s legacy. Pricing in the current Japanese market suggests a collector's willingness to invest despite condition flaws, underscoring the enduring appeal of Pokémon memorabilia.
