## Collector note
HOYA Crystal represents a distinctive segment of Japanese mid-century luxury goods manufacturing, when crystal tableware and smoking accessories were status markers in domestic and export markets. This complete five-piece set exemplifies the coordinated lifestyle tableware trend of the 1960s–70s era, combining functional design with crystal craftsmanship—a category that saw variable production runs and limited reissues. The unused condition and wooden tray integration suggest a premium gift set line, now scarce as smoking culture declined; collector interest centers on original Japanese retail packaging integrity, complete-set rarity, and crystal clarity retention over decades of storage.
