## Collector note
This large-format cel painting of Hilda of Polaris from the Asgard arc of *Saint Seiya* exemplifies the enduring appeal of Toei Animation’s legacy and the series' impact on the anime landscape since its debut in the late 1980s. Collectors highly prize cels from the show, particularly those featuring prominent characters like Hilda, due to their historical significance and rarity, especially for production items of this age. Although this piece exhibits some fading and surface peeling, its authenticity as a vintage item purchased over 30 years ago enhances its collectibility within the niche market of Japanese animation art. With prices of similar cels steadily climbing in Japan, this auction reflects the current trend of valuing early-run animation art.
