This is a stereo complete set of the legendary vacuum tube amplifiers from Marantz! While it is currently a prominent Japanese audio brand, it had immense recognition as a leading American audio brand in its early days. Initially sparked by a desire to enjoy music more, the founder started by building an amplifier in his kitchen, which gained a reputation for its sound quality. This led to the company's founding in 1953, marking a significant milestone in audio history. This auction features the legendary preamp and power amp combination set—the first notable work from Marantz. The preamp is based on the design of the "Audio Consolette," the inaugural preamp of the brand, with an added RIAA equalizer curve. Significant aesthetic upgrades include a shift from Bakelite knobs to milled aluminum, enhancing its luxurious appearance. During this period, despite its superb features, it maintained a high-end focus with a completely independent power design to eliminate mutual interference. Included in this auction is the dedicated power supply unit Type-4, ensuring immediate usability. No noticeable touch faults or crackling noises seem present. The internal C/R components are Black Beauty and other rare American components, preserving its originality. The vacuum tubes used are all Telefunken Diamond Mark, which adds significant value! The power supply unit has no significant scratches, and the internal selenium component is in good condition. The AC cord is free of cracks and in good condition. The power amplifier was sold by Matsushita HIFI in Yokosuka, just like the preamp, and is equally solid in provenance. This also went through maintenance at the Marantz 7 Restoration Workshop, ensuring it operates excellently! The internal C/R components are also American made, maintaining its originality. The serial numbers appear to be very close, and the sound quality and construction complement each other beautifully! Both UL and triode connections perform excellently, and the bias adjustment meter works well. Output tubes are all from Telefunken, with other vacuum tubes made from vintage American components. The AC cord has surface cracks, but the inner wire is not exposed, so it is preserved in its original state. As an accessory, a wooden case for the preamp is included.
