## Description
This is an ultra-vintage Montblanc fountain pen dating back over 100 years. It features a safety mechanism, with a clip designed as a solid 14-karat gold snake, embellished with diamonds for the head and rubies for the eyes. The nib is made of 14-karat gold and marked with the following engravings from top to bottom: 4810, Montblanc logo (a little slant within the M), a small Montblanc logo, 14CT, and 220.

The end cap shows no model number engravings, only a unique mark visible in images 15, 16, 17. Upon consulting Mr. Eizo Fujii of Eurobox, it was confirmed that he has never seen this particular pen before, thus he could not estimate its value; however, he approximated that the body alone, excluding the clip, could be worth around 800 euros (about 144,000 yen).

The clip, featuring the solid 14-karat gold snake, has a 585 stamp on the back, while the diamond and ruby have been appraised at a precious metals buying store. This pen was manufactured around the year 1920, marking it as an ultra-vintage item.

During this era, fountain pens were primarily practical writing instruments, used daily by people. Pens made with precious metals such as gold and diamonds are extraordinarily rare. Most were custom made for the wealthy elite who placed special orders. It is highly likely that this pen was custom crafted based on a standard safety pen.

Two key points support this claim: First, the absence of a model number, replaced instead by the unique engravings seen in the images. Second, a definitive factor is the position of the hole at the cap—unusually high and perfectly aligned so that when the clip is attached, all holes are concealed.

Whether made by the manufacturer or custom-ordered, this pen is undoubtedly a significant item, with a strong chance that this specific instance is the only remaining one (Mr. Fujii is known to be incredibly knowledgeable about vintage pens in Japan). Currently, there are no issues with retraction or writing, nor leaks from the end cap.
