## Collector note
Mukai Shiko's handwritten plaques are a rarity in the art collectible market, particularly due to the artist's limited production and the high demand for authentic pieces. This keyaki wood plaque exemplifies Shiko's mastery of calligraphy, with its vibrant verdigris lettering enhancing the natural beauty of the wood. Given that most artworks by Shiko remain in private collections, finding authentic examples for sale requires patience from collectors, making this offering particularly significant. The provenance of this piece, preserved by a close friend of the artist, further adds to its desirability among serious art aficionados in Japan and beyond.
