## Collector note
This complete 12-volume first edition set of 'Babiru 2-sei' by Mitsuhiro Yokoyama is a noteworthy acquisition for collectors of Showa retro manga, particularly given its non-lending status which further enhances its desirability. Akita Shoten is known for its high-quality print runs, and the absence of rental marks on this set signifies its premium condition despite some signs of wear—a critical factor that affects valuation among discerning collectors. Vintage Japanese comic sets like this are increasingly sought after due to their rarity and authenticity, sourced directly from Japan, ensuring that enthusiasts appreciate the unique qualities of these early runs. Given the current market dynamics for manga collectibles, this auction price reflects a reasonable estimate for a piece of this historical significance.
