## Collector note
The Mega Gengar ex [SAR] from the MEGA High Class Pack, released on November 28, 2025, epitomizes the evolving landscape of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, particularly in Japan where collectors prioritize rarity and condition. Graded PSA10, this card not only reflects the highest level of certification but also taps into Gengar’s longstanding popularity, especially among fans drawn to the spooky yet playful nature of the character. The SAR (Special Art Rare) classification heightens its desirability, given that such variants often see limited print runs, leading to a fervent collector demand in the Japanese market—well known for better storage and preservation of collectibles. Prices around ¥130,000 to ¥138,000 align with the trend of rapidly escalating values for high-grade, limited-edition Pokémon cards, underscoring the ongoing appreciation for high-quality, authentic pieces from Japan.
