■ About the Artist and the Work
Born in 1955 in Tokyo.
He took a leave of absence from Musashino Art University after entering the oil painting department and worked on a farm in Hokkaido.
In 1977, he returned to England after another leave of absence. He stayed from May 1977 to April 1978.

During this time, he came across a large quantity of match labels at the Portobello flea market, which inspired his 'sticking' works. The "UK77" print series was created from works he photographed, drew, and collaged during his stay in the UK, mainly in London.

Representative works include: Public bath "I-Yu" opened in Naoshima, Kagawa in 2009. Main solo exhibitions: "Shinro Ohtake: Panorama 1955-2006" (Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, 2006), "Shinro Ohtake New New" (Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art, 2013), "Shinro Ohtake: Remembering Speed" (Takamatsu Art Museum, 2013), etc.

The sold items are guaranteed genuine.

- Rest assured that if they are not genuine, they can be returned for a refund.

## Collector note
Shinro Ohtake's limited edition silkscreen prints from the "UK77" series represent a compelling intersection of contemporary Japanese art and the artist's unique experiences abroad, making this set a rare find. Created in 2004, each print reflects a meticulous process derived from his London stay during the late 1970s, a transformative period for Ohtake that saw him developing a distinct collage style. With only 200 copies produced, the handwritten signatures significantly enhance their value; condition remains crucial, as even minor wear can diminish aesthetic appeal and collectibility. Authentic items sourced from Japan benefit from superior quality control and preservation practices, ensuring that collectors receive truly genuine works reflective of Ohtake's artistic legacy.
