Based on the shape of the Sinn logo on the dial and the absence of the S mark on the crown, I believe this piece is from the late 1990s. The 156 is arguably Sinn’s most pilot-like chronograph. A major characteristic is the unique configuration of the Lemania 5100 hands (there are seven in total!). In March 2022, I had a complete overhaul done at Chrono Agent, costing over 60,000 yen. Since then, I've scarcely used it and have primarily displayed it. I would like to pass it on to someone who can truly utilize it. During the overhaul, I was fortunate to have new orange chronograph hands (60-minute and 12-hour counters) installed, which may be difficult to find now. All gaskets were replaced, including for the push buttons, ensuring water resistance. The bezel shows minimal wear, and the tactile feedback is solid during rotation. The hour and minute hands, along with the indices, are Tritium and have developed a lovely cream color over time. The three chronograph hands are finished with a special fluorescent paint for enhanced visibility inside the cockpit. These red hands are not luminescent in normal conditions but will glow bright orange under UV light (black light), typical of Sinn watches. This is also seen in later models like the Eurofighter. The watch comes with an unused Bund-type strap. Although the base is removed in the photo, attaching it gives a more military look. A Sinn strap is included, but it is not specific to the 156, and its underside has deteriorated, so consider it a bonus. It comes with the original buckle for versatile usability. A protective film, courtesy of Chrono Agent, is attached to the crystal. Additionally, I will provide a copy of the operating manual from Germany, though not shown in the photos.
