## Collector note
The 1964 Tokyo Olympics 1000 yen silver coin set is a noteworthy piece of numismatic history, commemorating Japan's inaugural hosting of the Olympic Games. As a limited edition release, these coins appeal to collectors of Olympic memorabilia and those interested in Japan's post-war recovery and modernization narrative. The slight tarnishing and minor scratches from age are expected for such vintage coins, yet they do not substantially detract from their collectability in the Japan market, where interest in historical Olympic artifacts remains strong. Authentic early-run coins like these often hold their value well, reflecting both their cultural significance and the rarity of well-preserved sets.
