## Collector note
Zippo lighters represent a distinct category within smoking accessories collecting, with branded collaborations like Marlboro editions commanding attention from both cigarette memorabilia and lighter enthusiasts. Brass construction and branded designs from the 1990s–2000s period are particularly sought after in the Japanese domestic market, where production runs were often more limited than Western releases. Condition and manufacturing variation (noted in the listing's disclaimer about engraved numbers differing by production batch) directly affect collector value; mint, unused examples command premiums. These items rarely reappear once distributed, making early-run Japanese stock increasingly difficult to source.
