## Description
This auction features a cel from Studio Ghibli's "Only Yesterday." It includes an original hand-painted background that is separate from the cel, ensuring no adhesive has been used.

Please note that minor wrinkles from the vinyl may be visible in the images. However, unless stated otherwise in the description, any wrinkles or damages on the cel itself are not present.

The images provided may differ slightly in color from the actual item, as these are scanned images. The cel and original animation materials listed are part of the production process documentation, and they may show signs of dirt, damage, or aging. Therefore, only bidders who understand the nature of production materials are encouraged to participate.

The background will only be listed as matching if the match is confirmed.

Shipping is done using Yu-Pack with a package size of 80.

## Collector note
Studio Ghibli production cels from 1991's "Only Yesterday" represent a critical window in hand-drawn animation history—Isao Takahata's film used traditional cel painting throughout, making original cels direct artifacts of the creative process rather than later reproductions. The inclusion of a matching hand-painted background (applied separately to avoid adhesive damage) significantly elevates rarity and value, as most cels survive without original backgrounds. Minor vinyl wrinkling is cosmetic and expected in 30+ year-old animation materials; what collectors prioritize is paint fidelity, character placement, and provenance from the actual production run. Ghibli cels from this era appear infrequently at auction and command premium pricing in the domestic Japanese market where early documentation and condition assessments are most reliable.
