## Description

**Hans Brattrud Designed Scandia Chair - Swivel Lounge Chair in Excellent Condition**

The Scandia chair is a masterpiece from Norway featuring a distinctive striped seat made from thin laminated materials. Its exquisite curves require high-level craftsmanship.  
### Designer: Hans Brattrud  
Born in 1933 in Norway, the Scandia Junior chair showcases Brattrud's talent when he designed it in 1957 as a student at the National School of Art and Design. It was first manufactured in 1960 by a Norwegian furniture maker and went on sale in 1961. The Scandia line eventually expanded to include models like Scandia Tilt and Scandia Senior. In 1967, Brattrud received a gold award from Bavaria at the German Craft Fair for Scandia Jr. and his armchair Arctis developed the further study of plywood. In 1964, he established a construction office and factory for producing prefabricated houses and was involved not just in various domestic and international projects but also in urban development.
